Urban Custom Bikes #1 At Pacific Raceways

Urban Custom Bikes #1 5-6-15 10706 May 2015 Kent, WA – Starting off the Wednesday night racing the Urban Custom Bikes are continuing what they started last season. The diversity of bikes is quite visible, from pure daily driven Harleys to a NHRA legal drag bike.

This is pure E.T. racing at its best. Yes there are some pretty fast bikes that race in this series but can they run on a consistent basis run after run is the key. This was the task for 14 riders tonight with Gary Tokos on his ’06 Harley coming out on top earning the trophy over Jacob Becker on his ’09 Kawasaki.

Images of the bikes and other classes are now available – click here to go to the album.

ProFormance Racing School – May 6th, 2015

ProFormance Racing School 5-6-15 13405 May 2015 Kent, WA – Before the smart phones and social media the telephone and face to face was the way word was spread around. With today’s social media the word is spread almost instantly around the world. In the case of ProFormance Racing School it has spread to B.C. Canada as half of the students were from there today.

The complete teaching package offered up by ProFormance will take you from timid driver to a confident operator of your ride. Teaching control and what different seat of the pants sensations is trying to tell you about what your car is doing at that time. Learning this not only makes you a driver that can negotiate the twists and turns of Pacific’s 2.25 mile track, but better than that you are also a better driver on the streets and highways.

This I have been told by some has saved them from a mishap on the streets by putting to use what they had learned at the school. Become a better driver by investing in the time it takes to go thru the school. Check the ProFormance School web site for info that will work for you.

The images are now available, including quite a few exotic sports cars that were in the class – click here to go to the photo album.

Good luck to all and have fun.

Pacific Raceways MX Friday Night Race Series Season Opener

Friday Night Race Series 5-1-15 43501 May 2015 Kent, WA – Let the riding begin! And begin it did. Nearly 300 riders showed up for the opening of the 2015 Friday night series. With a number of the riders taking part in the Wednesday practice session they had to have had an edge on the riders that did not.

The track and its new layout look fast. New jumps, twists and turns to test the best riders and a challenge for the new ones. With way more spectators than riders the cheering could be heard as the motos went on – and the line for food was pretty deep at times. If the crowd gathered at the track tonight is any indication the Friday night series this year should be packed with fun.

Images of all the riders are now available – click here to go to the album to make selections and purchases.

ProFormance Racing School – April 30th, 2015

ProFormance Race School 4-30-15 41030 Apr 2015 Kent, WA – For anyone who dreams of driving a sports car around a race track you first have to prove yourself.  Just driving up in a nice sports car and saying that you would like to race with them today they will ask for your license.  Please do not pull out your state issued one because that will only allow you to drive on the streets. The proof that they are looking for is one issued by an accredited school for performance driving.

These two day classroom and driving programs will take you through all you will need to know and learn to gain that license. Most everyone knows how to drive or at least they think they do. Just a few hours into the program you thought you knew and you have some habits that need attention. Going thru ProFormance Racing School will teach and correct what is needed to properly drive your car around a race track.

Even if you never get the chance to drive in a sanctioned event this knowledge will help you be a better driver on the streets. Dreams of doing something like this need to start right so check out the ProFormance web site or call (253) 630-5130 for more information.

Over 400 images from several spots on the track are now available – click here to go to the album.

Moto-X Practice At Pacific Raceways

MX Practice 4-29-15 25729 Apr 2015 Kent, WA – Mid-week practice this early in the season is rare and many riders came out to take advantage of it. With an event set for Friday an early practice time can give you an edge.

Lance’s new layout on the Moto-X track will give the riders a whole new feel to the track. This is done each year and a variation of it is used thru the season. From what I seen from some of the riders lap times it could prove to be a fast track.

Check with Pacific’s web site for info on times and dates for this season.

Images from the practice session are now available – click here to go to the album.

Final 4-Stroke Racing Series Event of The Season At Pacific Raceways

4-Stroke Racing Series 4-26-15 51126 Apr 2015 Kent, WA – Racing through the winter offers many a weather influenced preparations. No ice or snow as the track has it removed with their blowers, but it is still wet. Put the rain tires on and have at it with more grip then the dry track slicks. Going through these weather related conditions puts everyone on the same playing field and it comes down to your driving skills.

No need for the rain tires this day for the final race of the season. Mostly sunny skies put a little heat into the track surface had many a team changing their tires to better grip the track. Squealing tires could be heard throughout the rounds indicating the drivers were pushing there karts to the limits of their driving skills.

The drivers who pushed to the top of the podium today in 206 Light was Craig Collins, in the 206 Heavy class Ricky Arnold and in the World Formula class Doug Huggler claimed the top spot. For the season long race to the top these are the class winners: Kevin Janders in the 206 Light class claimed the top spot. In the 206 Heavy class Doug Huggler out pointed second place by a bunch. In a similar point differential Ken Porter claimed the World Formula title.

Congratulations to all the winners and participators in the series.

ProFormance Racing School – April 24th, 2015

ProFormance Racing School 4-24-15 14824 Apr 2015 Kent, WA – Teaching drivers to navigate around the 2.25 mile track at Pacific Raceways can change mid-session. We started with a sunny and chilly but dry track surface. Everything was going to the plan laid out by Don Kitch with his staff of instructors, and then mother- nature throws down a pouring of rain that soaked everything.

After a slight change in the plan and a switch to the wet track mode and carry on as if the weather had no bearing on the final outcome. Dealing with the forces of nature no matter wet or dry at speed on twists and turns is best learned from qualified people. You may think you know how to drive your car until you are behind the wheel with an instructor sitting right next to you with their voice in your ear.

Images of all the cars from several spots on the track are now available – click here to go to the photo album.

Check out the ProFormance web site for a date that will work for you to join in.

Optima Batteries ChumpCar World Series At Pacific Raceways

Optima Batteries ChumpCar World Series 4-19-15 77119 Apr 2015 Kent, WA – Coming again to Pacific’s legendary 2.25 mile track the Optima Batteries ChumpCar series brought quite a mix of race prepared cars and a theme for the teams. Two separate 7 hour non-stop racing days tested the race drivers and their equipment.

As many as four drivers split the driving duties just as in most all endurance racing it is a “team” event. There are not many pristine looking cars here as some bumping and contact happens as it is racing in close proximity with each other, though stressed at the driver’s meeting that if it does happen and is seen by the corner worker’s you “will” be black flagged to the paddock for an explanation.

Nothing wrong with being an aggressive driver, just don’t do it at the expense of your competitor. Just because your car looks like a “beater” is not a reason to treat it that way. The cars are fully prepared on the inside with a slew of safety equipment starting with a “cage”.

Driver safety is as important here as in all forms of racing. The ingenuity of these teams to put together a car that will last for seven hours of “hard” driving is quite impressive as the “rules” restrict what you can use.

Setup in two ablums – one for each day are over 1100 images of all the action from a number of vantage points – click here to go to the albums –

Nearly 50 entries starting this event on Saturday though the law of averages say that all will not finish the full two day event due to a multitude of malfunctions, thus the ingenuity factor of how to eliminate as many as possible ways to lose. The top five for each day are as follows:

Saturday:
1st- SMRT Racing
2nd- Eh! Team
3rd- JAT
4th- Osprey MotorSports 2
5th- Killer Whale

Sunday:
1st- scrap attack
2nd- FRASUN 1
3rd- Shift #71
4th- Team Titleist
5th- Killer Whale
