NW Bracket Shootout & ET #12 At Bremerton Raceway

NW Bracket Shootout and ET #12 6-28-15 33828 June 2015 Bremerton, WA – On any given Sunday the racing at Bremerton Raceway things go pretty much as laid out on the run schedule. Yes there are the little and mostly minor issues in nature. Nature, this is the kicker of the best laid plans. The sunny and hot weather here in the northwest is not normal and it was expected to be the same for today. Not so fast.

Just after things got going lightning appeared out of nowhere and all computer equipment is shut down for safety, racing stopped till it passed.  After starting up again the rain then decided to make an appearance, and we were stopped again. Such was the day…

Breann who came here on Mother’s Day as a student today comes here as a photography partner for the web-site. A complete complement to what is already being put on the site. Look for her shots when she is not working her other jobs.

For the few that new a family gathering was in the works in combination with a birthday. Sue Glenn who celebrated her birthday today had all the boys in one spot. Not an easy feat as Dallas who works for Jason Line’s pro stock team is on a pretty much fixed schedule and to have the time off to enjoy this family time, priceless I say.

Planned out ahead by hubby Steve and some spur of the moment once in a lifetime happening. As a gift to Sue from Bremerton Raceway she was brought to the starting line for the pleasure of being the “starter” in a race between two of her sons. I have to imagine a thrill of a lifetime for her and for the family she raised.

In the end a very happy ending to a strange race day and the winner’s that came from it.

Forum Fest At Pacific Raceways

Forum Fest 6-27-15 19627 June 2015 Kent, WA – Bright and early the cars were lining up for the gates to open for this year’s Forum Fest.  Bringing thousands of people and cars onto the property at Pacific Raceways is a big run in coordination.  It was all hands on deck to direct those to where they are supposed to go. Car show entries drag race entries and the many that come just to walk and watch.

With Speed Factory had their four car team out for testing and those who have no idea of the times and speeds that they obtain in the quarter mile.

When the speeds start edging to 200mph on a pretty consistent basis the rules say that you now need two chutes on that ride. Though all set up for those rules a glitch somewhere prevented them from being tested. I know they will figure it out and when they do lookout for the records they already have.

It was all a great time for those attending and for Breann Ipsen who thought she was going to miss it but took the camera and went about doing what she does best, good job. Till next time have fun and be safe.

Friday Nite MX Race Series Motox At Pacific Raceways

Friday Night MX Race Series6-26-15 48426 June 2015 Kent, WA – Nice weather and Friday night racing is the perfect combination for an MX event. The riders poured in to take advantage of these conditions.

It was fast and a little dusty at times – the track crews were on a constant rotation watering the surface to keep the dust away.  The long range weather forecast says these conditions are going to be around for a while so come on out for some fast and exciting motocross racing, Friday Night style.

Over 650 images from a bunch of vantage points are now available – click here to go to the album.

ProFormance Racing School – June 25th, 2015

ProFormance Racing School 6-25-15 10825 June 2015 Kent, WA –  When lapping days come around the cars that show up will surprise you at times. Such was the case today of those that ran around Pacific’s 2.25 mile track. It is not unusual to see BMW’s, Audi’s and Corvette’s taking advantage of these days.  Adding to that mix today was a Lotus and a McLaren with a fine copper colored paint covering it.

I have to say that I have not seen one of these cars on the track here. Anything with “gull wing” doors will draw attention but once you look inside and see what it there it becomes more impressive with “race” proven parts and pieces. I have to say that even before I talked with the owner he was having a blast driving it around the track.

These are the types of cars that when put out on the track they can take advantage of what the car has, and this one has. Was a fun time watching and photographing these fine cars on the track today.

Take a look at the ProFormance web site for a date so that you too can take advantage with that fine car you just picked up. See you then.

ProFormance Racing School – June 24th, 2015

ProFormance Racing School 6-24-15 07424 June 2015 Kent, WA – The reasons to go to the ProFormance School are many, though a lot are the same. It really does not matter the reason, all who come out of it are better drivers for it.

Many of us think that we can drive until the instructors start showing you differently. Very complete is how I can describe the class. With classroom and walking tours around the grounds even before you get behind the wheel. Yes you are at the wheel at the beginning as these are the planned steps to show you what to expect from your car under these conditions. All strange at the beginning then it clicks and you breeze right thru them.

Go to the web-site and sign up for a class and see for yourself.

Urban Custom Bikes #4 At Pacific Raceways

Urban Custom Bikes #4 6-24-15 13624 June 2015 Kent, WA – Overcast and muggy was the only way to describe the racing weather today. For those who came out for testing it had to be a bugger to get things right. Even climbing into the fire suits was being put off to the last second to shorten the time in it.

With the temps in the 80’s there were lines for liquid not food at the concession stand. Even with the weather the bike riders came out in force as they have for all the races.  It’s always a great mix of bikes for the race that is what really makes it such a great mid-week break.

Got a bike bring it out for the next upcoming race and join in the fun in the middle of the week. The two riders who had to put their suits on the most in the heat were John Plaster and Daren Anderson with John taking the trophy.

Swift Tools ET Series #6, Jr Dragster #7 & High School #2 At Pacific Raceways

ET #6 - Jr #7 - HS #2 6-20-15 58420 June 2015 Kent, WA – Combining the Swift Tools ET Series with a number of other racing classes to create the Super Saturdays could not have been a better idea.  It brought to the track if not a record it will be as 28 Jr’s in three classes went for the silver, as in a little “Wally”.

For the racers in the Swift Tool E.T. Series this was their goal today. Hard to get for most and getting one for the first time can be an emotional event.

Images of the action on the track and in the winners circle are now available – click here to go to the photo album.

To the winners GREAT JOB! – And now that one is in hand they say “on to the next one”. The list of “Wally” winners is:

Car Club & Test & Tune At Pacific Raceways

Car Club and Test and Tune 6-19-15 20519 June 2015 Kent, WA – The Car Club brings quite a mix of personal drivers to the track for bragging rights and awards. Yes some are more race prepared than others, but it is not much of an edge. The cars that come out of the Auto manufacturing plants these days have horsepower ratings that years ago were reserved for police cars.

Putting all that power to the track is still a factor today as it was back then. Street tires do require some babying to get traction, all part of the fun of club racing.

Putting everything together this night was Don Berry and his 68’ Camaro.

Images of all the club cars and others there for testing are now available – click here to go to the photo album.

ProFormance Racing Shool – June 18th, 2015

ProFormance Racing School 6-18-15 11818 June 2015 Kent, WA – The more I watch and listen to the students who sign up to go thru the ProFormance School the more reasons I learn why they are taking the courses. Like the books that the racers keep on the ways to race the reasons are many. Most are pretty common like just becoming a better driver or a “bucket list” that you always wanted to do, no matter the reason going thru the school is the best thing you can do to become a better driver no matter the application.

The license that the state issues you after you pass the driving portion allows you to run the roads, the license you can get from ProFormance after passing the driving test will allow you to drive in a road race event. The last post is a great example of this with the two young men that went thru the school.

If you’re interested road racing and have ideas in this manner check out their web site for information that will fit for you.

ProFormance Racing Shool + Added Bonus!

ProFormance Racing School 6-17-15 00917 June 2015 Kent, WA – The happenings today at ProFormance Racing School could not be any farther apart in what they are and here for. It started put with a group picture for Cardiac Dimensions Racing for a team building get together.

Taking the entire team thru the day long class and driving experience on the 2.25 mile road course. Though most all have never driven in this or any other type of motor sport and by the end of the day all were driving as though it was no big deal or like they had been here many times before. This is a testament to the instructors and owner Don Kitch and the way they teach.

ProFormance Racing School 6-17-15 508ProFormance Racing School D-70 6-17-15 378Speaking about teaching a couple of weeks ago a couple of young men from Oregon came up and went through the school. Today 18 year old Gracin Raz and 16 year old Noah Gragson were testing here with their K&N race cars for an upcoming race in Sonoma CA. A high school grad just days ago Gracin has already proven himself as a driver and Noah is not far behind him. Both looked and sounded smooth in their four hour testing session with all with the approved permission by NASCAR.

It was quite a treat to meet two very polite and gifted young men, and I say men because they have earned it even thou their time on earth is a small number. I wish them good luck and hope to see them again. Seeing and hearing their cars thunder down the straightaway was quite an experience.

Images from many spots on the track today resulted in more images than usual – click here to go to the photo album. As always your support and purchases are greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Special thanks as well to Breann Ipsen for assisting with the photographic duties today!
