07 Dec 2013 Kent, WA – Winter has not offically arrive yet on the calender but the cold weather whiped across the rest of the country creating havoc.  It ended driving at any kind speed, try and it would not end well.

But that was not the case for this weeks HPSDD at Pacific Raceways. Yes it was cold; but the sun was shining over most of the track and it was dry. No snow or ice to contend with, just the cold temps and a slight breeze that created a wind chill that is quite biting if you were not dressed for it.

Nobody understood this better than the turn worker’s,  who were in and out of the sunshine as the day went by. The cold did not bother most of the drivers, as most of them were in cars that have heaters. Learning to drive when the temp is below freezing on any surface is a challenge of it’s own, and to go ahead and do it as fast as you can was a whole new deal.

Doing this type of driving at driving school is the best way to go. Located on the Pacific Raceways property is The ProFormance Racing School, and its instructors teach this control and safety to anyone who wishes to learn. 30 Nov 2013 Kent, WA – It was another great driving day on the famed 2.25 mile Pacific Raceways road course.

Learning to drive your own car at a race track, at its limits, and with  different weather conditions conditions that are controlled by instructors and safety workers at the turns can be a huge benefit driving on the streets and highways in the northwest. 17 Nov 2013 Kent, WA – The second of the planned fall High Performance Sport Driving Days (HPSDD) greeted everyone with a much different set of weather conditions than the previous race day.

The conditions greatly impact the seat time that all drivers go through,  as one can never know when a race will present similar conditions.  Today even the seasoned drivers were caught off guard by the surface changes. As a teaching tool the weather is as important as your equipment that you bring to test, and you can only push so hard before bad things happen.

09 Nov 2013 Kent, WA – The end of the drag racing season at Pacific Raceways opened the road course to full use and the resumption of the HPSDD.  A wide range of entries took advantage of the chance to get back on track along with some who for the first time wanted to test their skills against the famed 2.25mi. surface.

Overseeing all the action was ProFormance Racing School’s Don Kitch Jr.Don and the other instructors did what they do best, teach.

Covering the corners the Lost Mines Safety Team kept everyone safe around the track and the weather did it’s part by keeping the rain away. The smiles on the face’s told the story, it was a great day at Pacific Raceway.
